Modernising Anguilla’s National Youth Policy

The Valley, Anguilla: In keeping with the commitment to create a modern Youth Policy, the Government of Anguilla through its Ministry and Department with responsibility for youth development will be conducting a national youth survey to inform their efforts.

The current Youth Policy of Anguilla is dated, having been enacted over 15 years ago, and thus does not reflect the current circumstances or address current issues that are affecting Anguilla’s youth.

In light of this, the Government is soliciting the views of over 800 young persons across Anguilla from ages 13 to 35, to share their thoughts on youth issues and identify and priorities solutions to the issues.

The information gathered will ensure that the modern Policy is tailored to empower and equip youth by addressing their issues across all sectors of national development over the next 10 years. It is intended to enhance access to opportunities and programmes for young people and foster an environment that will enable them to lead happy, healthy and productive lives.

A group of survey enumerators has been deployed across Anguilla to administer the national youth survey. We, therefore, welcome the cooperation of Anguilla’s youth in this data-gathering exercise.
