Nature Explorers Anguilla
Nature Explorers Anguilla is the first ecotourism company on Anguilla providing wildlife tours to the island’s wetlands. Formed in 2010, Nature Explorers Anguilla provides an excellent opportunity for visitors and residents to experience the natural world of this island nation.
As owner and operator of the company, Jackie Cestero shares her passion for the island’s ecosystems and wildlife on every tour. Jackie is an avid nature photographer with a wealth of experience conducting surveys of wetland and terrestrial birds across the island. She is also the author of From Bananaquits to Boobies: A Photographic Gallery of the Wild Birds of Anguilla and The Salty Wing, a quarterly publication that highlights Anguilla’s wildlife and natural habitats.
Anguilla boasts more than 20 wetlands and several offshore cays, many of which have been declared Important Bird Areas (IBA’s) by Birdlife International because of their wildlife diversity.
Further, over 130 species of birds live on the island for all or part of the year, including 5 of the Lesser Antilles Restricted Range Species. During the Spring and Fall migration, a number of species visit Anguilla as they make their way along the Atlantic Flyway.
Whether a bird watcher, photographer, or a little bit of both, Nature Explorers Anguilla helps clients investigate beyond the island’s glorious beaches, and observe the less travelled areas rich with incredible flora and fauna.
