Zharnel Hughes wins in Beijing

Zharnel Hughes, who has recently joined Team GB, had his humble beginnings “ducking cricket balls” in Anguilla, much like Shara Proctor. He is now a fierce competitor on the world stage doing what he loves, the 200m.

Zharnel recently placed 2nd against Usain Bolt, short from first by 0.03s, at the recent Diamond League in London. He has now gone on to win his first heat against many greats at the 2015 Beijing IAAF World Championship.

We are also very proud of Mauriel Carty who represented Anguilla and ran, in a heat just before Hughes, against Usain Bolt and many experienced athletes. This is the beginning of a great experience and we urge him to continue to work hard and grow.

We are proud of our stars who represent what we do and our way of life! Anguilla supports you all the way!

Like and share what we do! This is only the beginning.
